1. Ask Buca di Beppo to Stop Selling Veal

Etsy's Sarah from the Whimsy Store created a petition asking Buca di Beppo to support real family values by not serving veal. Male veal calves are byproducts of the dairy industry who taken away from their mothers within a few days of being born at which point they are confined in tiny crates where they can't move or stretch to prevent muscle development and fed restricted diets that are low in iron and other nutrients to cause anemia before they are slaughtered at just a few months of age.

2. Stop Plans for a Foie Gras Factory Farm in China

Creek Project Investments, based in the UK, is planning on building a foie gras factory farm in China, involving an estimated 100 million ducks/geese in 5 years.  After public outcry, the plan has been temporarily stopped until it is reviewed by animal welfare advocates and environmentalists. 

Sign the petition telling Creek Project Investments to scrap their plan for China, or anywhere else.

3. Urge the USDA to Ban Foie Gras

Several animal advocacy groups including the Animal Legal Defense Fund, Compassion Over Killing, the Animal Protection & Rescue League and Farm Sanctuary, along with pro bono attorneys from Steptoe & Johnson, have joined forces to bring a lawsuit against the USDA citing risks to human health claiming that the production of foie gras violates the Poultry Products Inspection Act (PPIA), which prohibits the sale of diseased poultry. Not only does the the sale of foie gras involve selling diseased livers, but the production practices used are considered cruel and inhumane and have already been banned in a dozen countries and the first statewide ban in the U.S. is set for July 1, 2012 in California. 

Please sign the petition asking the USDA to ban foie gras entirely.

4. Help Reunite Soldiers and Their Pets

SPCA International's (SPCAI) Operation Baghdad Pups is going to try to save over 30 animals from war zones by June 1, after which they will not be able to travel again by air until October, which means they will be left behind to what the group believes will be a certain death.
