weekly Animal Petitions Corner

Animal Petitions Corner

1. Dog Wars? Again? Really?

Last week you saw the petition here to get Dog Wars, a dogfighting app for Android that teaches people how to breed, raise, train and fight dogs, shut down. According to Google, the app was pulled due to a trademark infringement, but put back up by Kage Games as KG Dogfighting, who insists the game is to teach the public about the dangers of dogfighting.

Help get this game pulled from the market for good! Making a game out of the torture and suffering of dogs is not entertaining or educational.

If you have an Android, you can search the marketplace and flag the game or report the app as KG Dogfighting/Dog Wars created by Kage Games LLC here:

http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/request.py?contact_type=takedown

Send an email to Google at press@google.com asking them to pull the game and send another one to Kage Games at pitboss@kagegames.com to ask if anyone there has a soul.

If you haven’t signed the petition yet, add your name here:

2. Help Stop the Sale of Exotic Pets in Ohio

Last year an emergency ban on exotic “pets” was put in place after a man was killed by a captive black bear. However, the ban expired in April, opening the door for the exotic pet trade for potentially dangerous animals who are also susceptible to abuse or being kept in places that don’t meet their needs by people who don’t understand the responsibility and requirements that come with keeping animals who belong in the wild.

Tell Ohio Governor John Kasich to reinstate the ban to protect animals and people.

3. Don’t Let Factory Farmed Rabbits Return to the UK

Applications to start at least 6 rabbit battery farms have been submitted in the UK, which would involve keeping approximately 1,000 rabbits in stacked cages in windowless barns until they are slaughtered for their meat at 12 weeks of age, while others would be kept for fur.

Sign the petition asking Prime Minister David Cameron not to allow intensive farming of rabbits to return to the UK.
