I'm a Team EFA member, my etsy shop is danacarol.etsy.com. I'm a volunteer and board member of the Beaufort Community Cat Project, an all volunteer trap-neuter-return organization advocating non-lethal methods to reduce the free-roaming cat population here in Beaufort, NC.

We will be having a fundraising social/silent auction in January 2011. Wondering if anyone might be interested in donating one of their products or a gift certificate to our silent auction. We could send you a tax receipt for your records. We are a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status.

Humane Society Melds

Animals & Art for New Fundraiser

Gainesville, GA (Aug. XX, 2010)—The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia (HSNEGA) has announced that it will hosting Art with Heart, an art showing and silent auction to be held Friday, September 24 from 7-10 p.m. 2010 will be the premier year for this fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting the shelter’s operations.

“Most of our fundraising events are sporting events, such as our golf tournament and 5K run,” says Rick Aiken, president of the HSNEGA. “We wanted to host a new event with a festive focus that would appeal to a different type of animal welfare supporter.”

The benefit will take place at Grove Street Station in Gainesville, located at 610 Grove Street. The event will feature fine art, folk art, pottery and sculpture donated by renowned regional and local artists including Anne Brodie Hill, Rosemary Dodd, Jane Taylor, Amanda Carder, Janet Cornett, Betty Romberg, and Craig Corbin. All artwork will be available for silent auction during the event.

The event also will showcase local musical artists April Cummings and Chad Bowmar as well as entertainment by magician Jeff McClure. A heavy hors d’oeuvre buffet will be catered by Scott’s on the Square, who will also be offering a cash bar with signature event cocktails.

Tickets for the event are $50 per person and sponsor tables for 8 are available for $500. A limited number of tickets/table are available for the event; the requested RSVP date is Friday, September 17.

EFA will be donating at least 30 prizes for the raffle, and we get to choose which charity will receive the funds raised! From Mitsu To Happy Vegans: "The event is organised by VIVA! an organisation that campaigns for a vegan/vegetarian world. They are supported by celebs such as Paul Mccartney, Heather Mills and Chrissie Hyndes. This is their website.

Everything at the event must be vegan and it is a not-for-profit educational initiative organised by Viva! which is held every year. More information on the Roadshow is here.

Sasha and I started the website this year after both turning vegan at the same time. We wanted to share everything we have learned and make it easier for other people who are conisdering becoming vegan make the change. We have recipes, fashion, blogs, nutrition and all sorts of other information on the website. In addition to this we also make vegan cakes and are hoping to branch out further with this, everything we make is vegan and we use organic and fair trade ingredients.

In addition to our cakes, when we have stalls at vegan fayres and festivals such as the VIVA! one we also have a tombola (a raffle) [100% goes to a specific charity]. All the prizes are generously donated by vegan companies or other companies we feel share our ethics. The current procedure is quite lengthy and involves contacting every company individually as we come across them, so a sponsored tombola seems to make sense and will help save our time so we can concentrate on the million and one other things we have ideas for! This year we have managed to raise money for Marine Connection, VegFam, and HIPPO Charity.

This is our tombola from the last fayre we did.

We are both in full time employment and maintain our non profit website and prepare for all the vegan festivals in our spare time."

EFA Member, Taryn Zychal of Recycling Zychal has spent the past 5 years of her life salvaging broken umbrellas from the trash and turning them into functional, stylish made-to-order dog raincoats. As she gets ready to launch the next phase of her highly anticipated broken umbrella line this November that will include new products for pets, home and baby, she’s also answering to the calls of animals in need. Recycling Zychal has developed FLORA FAUNA FUNCTION, a program designed to put broken umbrellas in her hands, keeping them out of the trash all while helping to raise money for non-profit animal helping organizations.

FLORA FAUNA FUNCTION works by having high traffic area businesses volunteer to put Broken Umbrella Recycling Bins, provided by Recycling Zychal, in their store. Patrons and new customers can then use the bin to donate and recycle their broken umbrella. When the bin is filled, Taryn will come and collect the umbrellas and Recycling Zychal will then donate $1 for each one donated to a group of rotating organizations, the first one being the Morris Animal Refuge in center city Philadelphia.

The Wildlife Learning Foundation has partnered with the Los Angeles Unified School District for ten years, providing fun and educational life science lessons in their Ready, Set, Go! (before school) and Youth Development Program (YDP, after school) programs. We teach lessons crafted to meet the California State Science Standards utilizing our collection of rescued and zoo-born wildlife as silent instructors and living visual aids. Due to recent budget cuts, there is no longer funding for our outreach. However, we believe that our lessons are valuable to the students, inspiring interest in science and giving positive experiences with animals and nature.

On September 26th, we are hosting a benefit to raise money to continue our outreach programs at no cost to the schools. Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends call for Art Donations

Here's a call for art donations to benefit the AARF.

Hi Michele,

I volunteer with Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends (AARF). We are dedicated to addressing the overpopulation problem in the metro Atlanta area. To give you an idea of the magnitude of the problem here, 219 pets die in Atlanta metro shelters every day. Compare this to 54 pets per day in Chicago and less than 400 pets per year in San Francisco. Our pet overpopulation problem here in Atlanta is staggering, AARF is trying to act, both for the sake of the pets and for our legacy as a city.

On April 18, 2009 AARF will hold "219: The Show" at Fine Line Gallery in Atlanta, GA. This is a benefit to raise awareness and much-needed funds to address the pet overpopulation in Atlanta.

I am contacting you because AARF is looking for artists and crafts people to donate art to be sold in a silent auction. Two special pieces will be chosen to sell during a live auction at the end of the event. Our goal is to have at least 219 pieces of work so each piece will represent one dog or cat that will have lost his or her life in a county shelter that day.

The event will be heavily publicized both in print, radio and TV. All artists will be listed in the program and an artist bio will be posted by each donated piece.

Our goal for the evening is to raise $30,000, which will allow us to save hundreds of pets from euthanasia in Atlanta shelters. Please help by passing this along to your members so they can consider donating work for 219: The Show. Donations are tax-deductible.

EFA member Katie of lenoxdesigns is looking for any and all handmade donations for WellPetUSA's Yappy Hour Silent Auction, to be held Friday, December 5, in Oakbrook, Illinois. The auction will benefit WellPetUSA's Meow Bow Wow Fund.

The Meow Bow Wow Fund reimburses pet rescues across the US for their spay/neuter and vaccination costs. These are critical procedures, since animals in rescue cannot be adopted until they are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. All proceeds will go directly to the fund.

Catastrophic flooding has endangered millions of large and small animals in the state of Orissa in Eastern India. The Visakha SPCA (VSPCA) is responding to assist these animals, but they need our help.

Dear Friends,

Unable to bear the current flooding in the Orrisa coastal areas of India (about 300 kms from us), I write this appeal to all those who might be able to help the animals in 14 districts affected – more than half of Orrisa!

After the recent flooding our teams have been working in the West Godavari district (south of us) and the Srikakulam areas (north) – these areas are now improving. Our appeal now is to tackle a greater challenge that has driven half of the state of Orrisa into a crisis. Government funding is coming in to help in this dire situation, and we are lobbying and appealing for aid to help the animals in these regions as well. The animals urgently need fodder and medicine, and abandoned and homeless animals need to be rescued. But we have to lead by example, sending our teams in right now. Ever since the Mahanadi river started to rise, we have been following the situation by coordinating and joining with other NGO's. Since May 2008, many areas were devastated with continuous rains overlowing river embankments and rendering all helpless, breaking down all communications and collapsing of bridges that stopped many railways.

We have just now been able to get the latest Orissa situation reports from the Director of Animal Husbandry (please contact us for these documents). 2554 villages and over a million large and small animals need immediate help in Orissa.

To those of you worldwide, we send this urgent message to appeal for your kind financial donation that will be wisely and carefully used in remedying this crisis, and look forward to letting you know later on that much has been accomplished.

A cat in need

This is a story of love, a kitty and the lengths to which a loving family will go to help their beloved family member, a kitty called Isabel, live a healthy life.

If you think a cut paw, a small bite or a trip to the vets for an injection is scary for you and your pet, think again. What started out as a straightforward operation to remove a 'foreign body' from her turned into a nightmare of blood transfusions (yes pets DO have them), couriers in the middle of the night and nail biting days of stress and worry.

Her human Carers are seriously in need of help themselves. Want to guess how much the bill was for pulling Isabel, who they dearly love, back from the brink of death? Go on - guess.... AWBAR needs your help

This raccoon treasury by cynmb was dedicated to the animals at Abandoned Wild Babies Animal Rescue (AWBAR). Amanda at AWBAR is a committed wildlife rehabilitator who rescues and releases many young animals each year. The AWBAR Rescue recently lost 13 baby raccoons to a parvo outbreak - Amanda is working around the clock to care for the remaining raccoons and the other animals at the rescue. Medicine and veterinary care has been expensive, so Amanda would be very grateful if people could contribute to the rescue. If you cannot make a financial contribution, your thoughts, prayers and support would also be much appreciated.

AWBAR has an Etsy store, and all proceeds from purchases will go to help the animals. You can also donate items to be sold in the store by joining the AWBAR street team. New members are welcome - please see this Etsy forum thread, or contact midnightrabbits for more information.

A new animal team - Team AWBAR

Many EFA-ers will know AWBAR and the work done by Amanda to save raccoons and other baby animals. If you are new AWBAR is Abandoned Wild Baby Animals Rescue - small but hard-working group focussing on saving those most defenceless of animals.

She now has an Etsy Street Team Team AWBAR a gathering point for people who want to promote, raise funds and generally help AWBAR.

Amanda works hard to help animals - she is at the sharp end saving small lives, lives that are the wild animals of the future that will fill local woods and forests, make a racket in the morning and generally let us know that all is well with the world. You can register for updates to AWBAR here.

Join the AWBAR Street Team if you can, and/or if you are busy, under pressure or just pressed for time try donating an item from your shop instead or sell something and give Amanda the money!!. My name is Brooke Suchomel, and I am asking for donations for an upcoming auction that I've organized to raise funds for the animals displaced by the recent flood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter has been completely destroyed. There are hundreds of companion animals being housed in temporary evacuation shelters in Cedar Rapids. Many, many more animals are still stranded in the tens of thousands of abandoned homes. Support is desperately needed.

Farm Sanctuary is hosting an upcoming "Charity Buzz" auction online, a "Party for the Pigs" to benefit the Midwest Flood Survivors and a "Compassionate Holiday Benefit" in NYC. Each will feature fabulous auctions to benefit our work and help care for the sanctuary residents. We need YOU to help secure items to raise the vital funds needed. Art, vacation packages, special services, jewelry, and unique memorabilia all welcome. A call for EFA help with an On-Line auction

We have received an appeal for help with an on-line auction.

Hi, this is Layla and I am the chairperson for the 2008 Annual Online "Paws for a Cause" auction to benefit It's Meow or Never
Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill organization.

At It's Meow or Never Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, we have a goal of raising $150,000 from this event. These funds will allow us to open an adoption center in the local area which will allow us to rescue and rehabilitate more animals in dire need.

We would love to have you help us with our auction by donating a gift certificate, product or service for our auction. We just love craft items. In exchange, we can provide advertising on our auction web site with a link back to your company web site. Additionally, we can provide a tax receipt for your donation.

If you'd like to contribute to our auction, please note that it will take place in the August 2008 timeframe. As such, we'd like to
request that gift certificates and tickets reflect an expiration date of December 2008 or later.

Call for Entries for ARTunleased benefit - Come on EFA-ers!!

First Coast No More Homeless Pets would like to invite you to participate in the third annual ARTunleashed juried art show and auction, to benefit our free and low-cost spay neuter programs! This year's event is scheduled for July 26, 2008, and we want to give all our artists plenty of time to create the stunning artwork that has become a trademark of ARTunleashed. As always, we will be offering a cash prize to the top three artists. New this year is a $500 prize for the top artwork in the student category. Please pass this along to any and all artists you know who might be interested in participating!
