1. Tell the White House to Stop Breed Discrimination on Military Bases

The White House just issued an official statement opposing breed specific legislation (BSL) on the grounds that it is costly and, more importantly, ineffective. Logically, this should extend to breed discriminatory regulations in place on U.S. military bases that prevent people from keeping certain types of dogs based on their looks. 

Please send a letter to President Obama thanking him for opposing BSL and asking him to take action against BSL on military bases.

2. Help Crack Down on Spectators at Animal Fights

This week 16 welfare organizations stepped up to rescue 367 dogs in what's believed to be the second largest bust in U.S. history. While there are laws on the books dealing with those directly involved in animal fighting, loopholes still exist for spectators. 

Please sign a letter to lawmakers asking them to support the Animal Fighting Spectator Prohibition Act, which would crack down on those who attend animal fights and impose heftier penalties for anyone who brings a minor along.

3. Tell California to Ban Lead Ammunition

A bill in California that would ban lead ammunition for hunting and potentially save hundreds of wild animals from lead poisoning, including endangered California condors, is on the table. Unfortunately, it's being opposed by some hunting organizations and the NRA that claim its safe, despite scientific evidence to the contrary. 

Please sign the petition supporting a ban on lead hunting ammunition in the state.
