1. Tell Congress to Ban Horse Slaughter

The Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act was recently introduced with bipartisan support and will prohibit the slaughter of horses for human consumption in the U.S. and ban their export abroad for that purpose, which will protect both consumers and horses, and it comes on the heels of the USDA announcing it will process an application for inspecting horse slaughter facility in New Mexico. 

Please sign the petition asking Congress to pass the SAFE Act and ban slaughter for good.

2. Ask Laval University to Stop Killing Piglets

The Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine has filed a complaint with the Quebec City Director of Criminal and Penal Proceedings in Canada, arguing that Laval University is violating the province's animal cruelty law by using and killing piglets in its pediatrics residency training program. 

Please send a letter asking the school's dean of medicine to replace piglets with human-based training methods.

3. Protect Wolves in Washington

Even though wolves are still listed as endangered in two-thirds of the state, a bill that will allow unregulated killing of endangered wolves on public lands has passed the Senate and is now awaiting a vote in the House, even though animal advocates believe it violates the  Endangered Species Act and severely undermines the state's current wolf management plan. 

Please send a letter to lawmakers in Washington asking them to oppose this bill.
