ANiMAL PETiTiONS CORNER by WoodsEdge
presented by Alicia of WoodsEdge
1. Save Coyotes in Carson, California
Animal advocates and residents are currently battling over what should happen to coyotes who are roaming in the area. Some believe they should be killed, while wildlife experts and animal advocates are fighting to educate the public about coexisting with coyotes and hope to make trapping unnecessary.
Sign the petition asking city officials to stop hunting and trapping coyotes and find a humane alternative.
2. Keep Hunters Out of New South Wales Parks
Numerous species have made a home in New South Wales, but dirty politics could ruin their safe haven in numerous reserves, conservation areas and national parks by allowing hunters in. These hunters will not be supervised by park staff and the parks will not be closed when hunters are out.
Sign the petition asking Premier Barry O'Farrell to reverse this decision before it becomes a law in December.
3. Save the Amazon's Songbirds and Other Endangered Species
A study published in the journal Science this month found that the vast majority of extinctions in the Amazon have yet to come, despite the decline of deforestation and creation of protected areas. While some are optimistic that there is still time to save local species with concentrated conservation efforts, businesses continue to lobby for weaker forest protection.
Sign the petition asking Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff to veto weakened forest laws and save Brazil's wildlife.
PLEASE
