1. Dog Euthanized After Missing for Three Hours

At around noon on November 1, a 17-year-old corgi/border collie mix got out of her yard. 20 minutes later, she was dropped off at the Crosspointe Animal Hospital in Fairfax, VA, by a stranger who thought she was a stray. Despite being clean, having clipped nails and a recent tooth extraction, she was euthanized shortly after she was brought in with no attempt to locate her owners.

Sign the petition requesting an investigation into this case and veterinarian, in addition to requesting a modification of Virginia laws that no longer allow vets to euthanize without an owners consent unless there is a life-threatening injury or illness.

2. End Horse Slaughter in Canada

In October, a bill was reintroduced in Canada that will end the import/export of horses intended for human consumption between the U.S. and Canada. In addition to the inherent cruelty of the horse slaughter industry, horses are not raised for human consumption are exposed to a host of medications and supplements that have been found to adversely affect human health.

3. Tell Northcote Retaurant to Drop Foie Gras From its Menu

Chef Nigel Haworth has added foie gras to the menu at his restaurant and promoting it in his book. Foie gras is produced by force-feeding geese and ducks until their livers are multiple times their normal size and diseased, also considered by many to be one of the most inhumane animal food products on the market.
