1. Tell the USDA to Take Action Over Animal Abuse at Lab 

The USDA has been documenting violations of the Animal Welfare Act ranging from failure to provide veterinary care to sick and injured goats to completely hiding a facility that housed 800 animals at Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Inc. since 2007. 

Please send a letter asking Agriculture Secretary Thomas Vilsack  to revoke Santa Cruz Biotechnology's license and ensure that it faces the stiffest penalties allowed under the AWA.

2. Tell the Government to Stop Killing Wildlife

Wildlife Services has been using lethal control measures for decades to "manage" wildlife and reduce conflicts, but these tactics are getting out of control. The agency uses brutal methods from shooting to trapping and poisoning animals to deal with issues and kills an estimated 100,000 wild animals every year. 

Please sign the petition asking Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to reform Wildlife Services and develop programs that can resolve wildlife conflicts without resorting to lethal measures.

3. Support the Ban on Ivory

Last week an entire family of elephants was brutally slaughtered by poachers for their tusks, in one of the most heartbreaking story for elephants in years. Unfortunately, the demand for ivory is at the highest its been in decades, with 2011 being one of the worst years on record. 

Please sign the petition asking Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) to uphold the ban on ivory and not to allow the sale of ivory that has been obtained from elephants who have died naturally or who were killed by trophy hunters, which could help drive demand, further endangering elephants.
