AUGUST 2012
ANYTHING GOES
CHARITY OF THE MONTH
Usually each month, TEAM EFA designates one animal charity as our Charity of the Month (aka COTM).
During the month of August, Team EFA's Charity of the Month is ANYTHING GOES… which means that efa cotm members who participate in our COTM program will be able to select from any of our last 11 charities when making their donations.
As is becoming tradition during the quieter summer month of August... patrons, sponsors & members have a renewed opportunity to look back on EFA's 2011/12 COTM charities and assist one or several of these fabulous organizations.
Each week we've looked at 3 COTMS... here's our final installment... We've had some fabulous COTMs over the last year!
“The Gentle Barn is an educational facility that teaches children about animals in a way that will change their perspective about themselves and the world around them. We want to show children that even though we all look different, we are all the same inside. Every living being has language and needs food, water, shelter and love.”
The Gentle Barn provides a safe atmosphere for inner city kids, special needs, and school children where they get unconditional, non-judgmental love from the animals. “Since children naturally identify with animals, we can use interactions with animals to teach children how to behave towards other people.”

"Arctic Rescue was founded in 1994 and is located in Provo, Utah. The group rescues Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies, Samoyed, Alaskan Huskies, and other arctic breed dogs from shelters in Utah and the surrounding region.
Arctic Rescue does not operate a shelter or kennel but instead works with a network of volunteer foster homes. Like many other dog rescue organizations, they receive information from area shelters and other rescue groups about arctic breed dogs in need.
The group works together with National Siberian Husky Rescue, PetFinder as well as other area rescues and breed enthusiasts to rescue, adopt out, and promote sled dog type breeds."
