Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England

Hi,

I am a volunteer with Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England and we are gearing up for our 13th Annual Joey Fund Auction (our biggest fundraiser of the year). We will be holding our annual Silent/Live Auction at the Best Western Hotel in Marlborough, Mass on October 2nd. I was hoping that you could please consider forwarding my "ask" to your group in hopes that some artists would consider donating any item(s) to help us raise money at this year’s event. We can't make this a successful auction without people like you.

CSRNE is the oldest rescue in New England having been established in 1987. Fundraising is this rescue's only source of income. That is why events such as these are so critical!

All proceeds from this event will go directly to CSRNE's Joey Fund, a special fund set up to cover medical expenses and other costs for the rescued dogs in our care. We pride ourselves on doing the absolute best for these dogs, raising funds for health care, training, nurturing and rehabilitation. All in all, whatever they need before they can be adopted, we make sure they get it!

ALL donations are tax deductible. CSRNE is a federally exempt, 501(c) (3) organization, #02-0472694.

Promotional material sent to us with your donation, by August 1st, is displayed at the auction and your company name is printed in our auction catalog. Our entire audience is given a “doggy bag” with the promotional material as well, so can send us whatever you would like included in that as well.

Please visit our website at www.csrne.org to see the wonderful dogs in our care that need our help to find them a forever home. Please feel free to email me or call for more details at 508-755-7808.

Donations and promotional materials can be mailed to my attention at the address below.

Thank you so much for considering my request!

Sincerely,

Jane Morgan

SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary Auction Items Request

From Amanda of SASHA Farm;

I am with SASHA Farm Animal Sanctuary in Manchester, MI. In the past, Etsy for Animals has been very supportive of our organization by sending donations for our annual silent auction. I am chairing it this year, and I'm writing in hopes that you'll pass our request on to your members.

We are the largest farmed animal sanctuary in Midwest, currently caring for over 230 rescued farmed and other domestic animals. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and receive no public funding, so the work we do depends solely on the generosity of compassionate people like you. Our annual silent auction raises a significant portion of our operating budget each year, and we hope to continue that success.

The deadline for donations this year is April 5th, and the auction takes place on April 24th. There is no minimum value, but we do reserve the right to group items with values less than $15. Also, all donations should be vegan and animal friendly. Donations can be sent directly to the sanctuary.

SASHA Farm
Attn: Amanda
17901 Mahrle Rd
Manchester, MI 48158

Donations will be acknowledged on our website, and we will provide a receipt for the value of the item for your tax purposes. (Please be sure to state the retail value.) Handmade items are always a huge seller at the auction.

We very much appreciate the support Etsy for Animals has shown us in the past. Thank you so much!

Donate Items to Help Wildlife Program

Sent by new EFA member; http://porcupinesnuggles.etsy.com;

The Wildlife Learning Foundation has partnered with the Los Angeles Unified School District for ten years, providing fun and educational life science lessons in their Ready, Set, Go! (before school) and Youth Development Program (YDP, after school) programs. We teach lessons crafted to meet the California State Science Standards utilizing our collection of rescued and zoo-born wildlife as silent instructors and living visual aids. Due to recent budget cuts, there is no longer funding for our outreach. However, we believe that our lessons are valuable to the students, inspiring interest in science and giving positive experiences with animals and nature.

On September 26th, we are hosting a benefit to raise money to continue our outreach programs at no cost to the schools. We will have animal encounters, tours, food, drinks, silent auction and raffle tables. Any and all are welcome to attend! For any questions, contact Christine http://PorcupineSnuggles.etsy.com or via email: porcupinesnuggles@yahoo.com For more information on the Wildlife Learning Foundation, visit http://wildlifelearningfoundation.org

Donations for the silent auction/raffle can be sent to:

Atlanta Animal Welfare Committee Art Fundraiser

Atlanta Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) is having an art fundraiser for free spaying/neutering/vaccinating of pets for neighbors in need. If you are interested in donating a piece of art or design for this fundraiser, we would be very grateful.

The art show will be at Kirkwood Gathering Grounds coffee shop in Atlanta, GA from April 1- 28. The opening will be Saturday, April 4 from 7-9 pm. For each work in the show, there will be a bid sheet with a suggested minimum bid determined by the artists. The bidding will remain open throughout the exhibition.

All proceeds will go toward spay/neuter initiatives for neighbors in need. If you are able to donate, your donation will be tax deductible, as the AWC is a 501(c)3 organization. Just let me know the value of the piece and I will provide you with a document for your tax records. If you are interested in donating, we will need to get the following from you between now and March 25th:

- Name
- Bio
- Title of work
- Medium
- Dimensions
- Starting bid
- Digital image for artist bio/bid notebook
- Retail value of the work for contribution letter for tax deduction
- The work itself, preferably ready for hanging/display

In just the last few months, AWC has spayed/neutered and vaccinated over 60 animals for neighbors in need. We have also built enclosures/pens to get 6 dogs off chains, and we rescued 10 strays and found homes for them. Your participation will allow the group to continue this work.

Thanks much and let me know if you have any questions,
Felicia Holden

Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends call for Art Donations

Here's a call for art donations to benefit the AARF.

Hi Michele,

I volunteer with Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends (AARF). We are dedicated to addressing the overpopulation problem in the metro Atlanta area. To give you an idea of the magnitude of the problem here, 219 pets die in Atlanta metro shelters every day. Compare this to 54 pets per day in Chicago and less than 400 pets per year in San Francisco. Our pet overpopulation problem here in Atlanta is staggering, AARF is trying to act, both for the sake of the pets and for our legacy as a city.

On April 18, 2009 AARF will hold "219: The Show" at Fine Line Gallery in Atlanta, GA. This is a benefit to raise awareness and much-needed funds to address the pet overpopulation in Atlanta.

I am contacting you because AARF is looking for artists and crafts people to donate art to be sold in a silent auction. Two special pieces will be chosen to sell during a live auction at the end of the event. Our goal is to have at least 219 pieces of work so each piece will represent one dog or cat that will have lost his or her life in a county shelter that day.

The event will be heavily publicized both in print, radio and TV. All artists will be listed in the program and an artist bio will be posted by each donated piece.

Our goal for the evening is to raise $30,000, which will allow us to save hundreds of pets from euthanasia in Atlanta shelters. Please help by passing this along to your members so they can consider donating work for 219: The Show. Donations are tax-deductible.

To find out more about AARF, please visit www.aarfatlanta.org. Any artists interested in donating their work can contact me at Melissa@aarfatlanta.org or call 404.245.5240.

I appreciate your consideration.

Sincerely,
Melissa

Donate auction items to help WellPetUSA!

EFA member Katie of lenoxdesigns is looking for any and all handmade donations for WellPetUSA's Yappy Hour Silent Auction, to be held Friday, December 5, in Oakbrook, Illinois. The auction will benefit WellPetUSA's Meow Bow Wow Fund.

The Meow Bow Wow Fund reimburses pet rescues across the US for their spay/neuter and vaccination costs. These are critical procedures, since animals in rescue cannot be adopted until they are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. All proceeds will go directly to the fund.

For more information on the event, please see http://yappyhour.eventbrite.com/

Katie would like to have all items by Thanksgiving (given the hectic holidays!). Items may be sent directly to her at:

Needed: Item Donations for Dog Rescue Auction

From an e-mail sent to EFA co-leader MVegan5:

My name is Christopher Walsh, and I volunteer for two New England dog rescue groups- Life's Little Paws (cocker spaniels) and Chesapeake Safe Harbor (Chesapeake Bay retrievers). For many years several cocker spaniel groups got together and had an online auction to raise funds. Last spring, Life's Little Paws decided to invest in its own software, offer it to limited rescues, and have only two auctions per year, Spring and Fall (Holiday). The auction site is www.lifeslittlepawsauction.com, and the Fall auction runs from October 18 to November 22, 2008.

Chesapeake Safe Harbor is involved, an all-breed rescue out of California is involved, and several cocker spaniel groups from Ohio, New England, California, New York, Florida and (I think) Tennessee will be joining. It's a great way to network, let people do their holiday shopping and of course raise money for the rescues to continue a never-ending project: saving the dogs.

The nice thing is we can list the web addresses on the auction for the non-winners to go ahead and order later. We have over 600 registered and spending users that utilize the auction and spend their money- all pet lovers. Even a few kitty things end up here.

I guarantee that 100% of the proceeds go to the dogs, and, through Chesapeake Safe Harbor, I can issue a tax receipt for a donation to this non-profit organization for any and all donations. If anyone is interested in donating something to the auction, please email me soon, as listing for the auction is fully underway. My email address is dallasisland@netzero.com, and my shipping address is:

Christopher Walsh
31 Gretas Lane
Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Please include a link to your website or your Etsy store, the value of the donation (including time invested) and the mailing address for the receipt to go to. Don't hesitate to email me with any questions.

--Christopher Walsh
