ANiMAL PETiTiONS CORNER by Alicia of WoodsEdge
Presented by Alicia of WoodsEdge
1. Tell the Forest Service to Protect Wild Horses
The Forest Service is seeking public comments on its Monte Cristo Wild Horse Territory Management Plan, which will effect horses for the next 15-20 years. The Forest Service plans on using birth control, but also plans to remove horses.
Please send a letter asking the Forest Service to include other actions in its plan, such as prioritizing wildlife over private grazing and discouraging predator removal, among other important measures.

A recent undercover video released by Mercy for Animals showed horrific abuse five Butterball turkey farms in North Carolina, which can be found at Butterballabuse.com. Butterball claims it takes animal welfare seriously, but the videos show otherwise and this is the second time in less than a year that violence towards animals has been uncovered at Butterball, which is the largest producer of turkeys in the U.S.
Please sign the petition asking Butterball to crack down on animal cruelty and adopt serious policies to deal with abusers.

A recent attack on a worker at a casting facility in Montana resulted in the death of both the worker and the captive bear who was responsible. Unfortunately, the state requested that the other bear in the pen, Yosemite, be killed as well.
Please sign the petition asking Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks to spare Yosemite.
