ANiMAL PETiTiONS CORNER by Alicia of WoodsEdge
Presented by Alicia of WoodsEdge
1. Tell the USDA to Regulate Online Pet Sales
Currently, only breeders who sell directly to the public are required to be licensed and regulated by the USDA. A proposal that was introduced this spring would require breeders who sell online to comply with the same standards. So far it's received overwhelming support, but could use some more until it's finalized.
Please send a letter to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack asking him to protect pets and finalize the USDA rule.

2. Stop the Sportsmen's Heritage Act from Passing
The Sportsmen's Heritage Act could have a dire impact on wild animals and people by allowing for the expansion of hunting ranges on public land, importing polar bear trophies and stopping the EPA from regulating toxic substances, such as lead used in bullets and fishing gear.
Please send a letter to your senator asking them to oppose this dangerous bill.

3. Tell Congress to Protect the Last of Asia's Tigers and Other Imperiled Species
Today, there are only 3,200 wild tigers living in the jungles of Asia. The Save Vanishing Species stamp has raised $1.58 million to protect tigers and other wildlife from poaching and other perils in just one year, but now the stamp is up for renewal.
Please Send a letter to your representative asing them to enact H.R. 3510/S.3208, the Multinational Species Conservation Funds Semipostal Stamp Reauthorization Act, which will renew the stamp for four more years.
