1. Protect Wildlife: Say No to Shell's Tar Sands Mine

Shell's plan to expand a tar sands strip mine in Alberta, Canada, will have devastating effects on wild animals including caribou, songbirds, owls, lynx and other creatures who call the boreal forest home, along with posing a threat to human health by polluting the area and threatening water supplies in Canada and the U.S. 

Please send Shell a letter asking the company to withdraw its application for the Jackpine tar sands mine and invest in alternative energy instead.

2. Help Save Bill and Lou

Bill and Lou are two oxen who live and work at Green Mountain College in Vermont. The pair have been used there for 10 years and were working until Lou was injured. Since Bill doesn't want to work with anyone else, the college has decided to slaughter them and feed them to students, despite public outcry and an offer from a nearby sanctuary to take them and provide them with a permanent home where they can enjoy their retirement.  

Please sign the petition asking the college to send the pair to a sanctuary.

3. Tell Congress Not to Pull the Financial Plug on Wildlife

If our members of Congress can't agree on a budget to reduce the deficit, crucial funds for conservation and protecting wildlife will be the first to get cut. 

Please send a letter to your member of Congress asking that they step up and support funding for the protection and conservation of our wildlife and wild lands. Even if these programs are cut, it still won't help fix the budget, it will only leave wild animals more vulnerable than they already are.
