AUG COTM 7-8-9: Life's Little Paws, Safe Haven Equine Rescue & Retirement, Ratbone Rescues
AUGUST 2012
ANYTHING GOES
CHARITY OF THE MONTH
Usually each month, TEAM EFA designates one animal charity as our Charity of the Month (aka COTM).
During the month of August, Team EFA's Charity of the Month is ANYTHING GOES… which means that efa cotm members who participate in our COTM program will be able to select from any of our last 11 charities when making their donations.
As is becoming tradition during the quieter summer month of August... patrons, sponsors & members have a renewed opportunity to look back on EFA's 2011/12 COTM charities and assist one or several of these fabulous organizations.
Each week we will look at 3 COTMS... ENJOY & please donate if you can !

"Safe Haven Equine Rescue & Retirement was organized to rescue horses in need of food, shelter, and medical attention due to neglect or abuse in an effort to improve their quality of life. SHERR also provides assistance in finding a place of retirement for older horses that are unable to perform the tasks intended for them.
Their philosophy is based on the belief that since humans domesticated horses, we must take full responsibility for their lives. SHERR’s goal is to find permanent placement for horses with responsible, loving, adoptive homes as companion riding mounts and retired pets. SHERR believes that all of them need and deserve a safe home, a sanctuary."

"Life’s Little Paws is an ALL volunteer cocker spaniel rescue group. LLP is dedicated to saving the lives, ensuring the best health possible through vetting and holistic means, and the re-homing of cocker spaniels.
We are a group of volunteers that have formed a reliable transport team and loving foster homes from Ohio to Maine to Georgia. We can assure everyone that we are able to move cockers that need us in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with all local and state regulations."

"Ratbone Rescues is a national rescue organization working to rescue and rehome Rat Terriers. Established in 1999, we have grown from a tiny core of four volunteers to almost 150 members across the nation. We take in all kinds of Rat Terriers; old, injured, puppy mill survivors, pregnant and heartworm positive. We are also the official rescue organization of the American Hairless Terrier Association, and you can sometimes find American Hairless Terriers (AHTs) at Ratbone Rescues - as well as the impressive Decker Giant Rat Terriers.
As Ratbone Rescues takes in seriously injured dogs our vet bills are very high. Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of rehabilitating many of our dogs, but we accept them anyway. Many injured dogs that sit untreated in shelters have come into Ratbone Rescue to be cared for and restored to health."
