1. Get Justice for Cisco - Innocent Dog Shot by Police Officer
On April 14, a Blue Heeler named Cisco was shot by an Austin police officer who was responding to a domestic violence call, only he showed up at the wrong house...held the owner at gun point and shot Cisco, who began barking when he saw the officer.
Please sign the petition asking that the officer be reprimanded and that the Austin Police Department provide training for officers so they can learn how to actually deal with animals.

2. Ask Germany to Close Dolphinariums
Germany, one of 15 countries in the EU to have dolphinariums, currently has three in operation where dolphins and small whales are kept at for-profit businesses. They're taken from the wild, confined to enclosures that could never meet their needs, forced to perform tricks and suffer the effects of stress and illness.
Sign the petition asking Germany to become a leader in animal welfare by joining the few countries who have already banned dolphinariums.

3. Tell the USDA Animal Abuse is Unacceptable
The USDA has once again failed to protect animals by giving the Cole Bros. Circus a mere $15,000 fine, which in reality should have been about $100,000, for more than 10 violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
Send a letter to the USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack asking him to uphold the Animal Welfare Act and ensure that violators are held accountable, not slapped on the wrist.

3. Help Pets in California Shelters
California's Governor Jerry Brown is working on an initiative that would reduce the amount of time they could spend there from four to six days to just 72 hours and would also remove holding limits for smaller animals, such as guinea pigs.

4. Help Greyhounds Get Adopted, Not Killed
With no laws to protect them, almost 400 greyhounds are killed every year at at a dog track called the Canidrome in Macau. Sources report that an estimated 800 greyhounds spend their lives in stacked cages and when they race, it's only for a small crowd and the ones who finish outside the top three more than five times in a row are automatically killed.
Sign the petition asking Macau's Chief Executive Dr. Chui Sai On to stop this senseless killing and implement an adoption at Canidrome.

1. Speak Out Against Idaho's Wolf Torture
After losing protection under the Endangered Species Act, the war on wolves in the Rocky Mountains has intensified. Photos have recently surfaced of a wolf that is believed to have been tortured in a trap before being killed with the involvement of the U.S. Forest Service. The Center for Biological diversity is calling for an investigation of Josh Bransford, who posted photos of a wolf who had been trapped near a road and non-fatally shot "by several guys", which violates the state's animal cruelty laws.
Sign the petition asking Idaho's Department of Fish and Game and the head of the U.S. Forest Service to investigate the matter and take the appropriate disciplinary action.

2. Help NYC Carriage Horses
The coalition to Ban Horse Drawn carriages has reported a number of incidents that took place in the past year resulting in car accidents, injuries to horses and people and dead horses in New York City, where horses have no business on the overcrowded streets.
Send a letter to the the CEO of NYC & Company, NYC's official tourist agency asking him not to support this inhumane industry.
3. Support Protection for the Boreal Forest
In what might be the largest conservation project on earth, Quebec premier Jean Charest recently announced formal plans to safeguard 50% of the province’s northern territory, a region the size of France. An estimated 20% will be totally protected and 30% will be off limits to mining and hydroelectric projects. However, measures still need to be taken to protect the boreal forest.
Sign the petition asking that extra measures are taken to protect wildlife and biodiversity the boreal forest.

1. Save Florida's Sea Turtle Hatchlings
The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating a lighthouse in Pompano, Fla., that is causing nesting mother and baby sea turtles to lose their way and wander away from the water instead of towards it.
Please sign the petition asking the COast Gaurd to make simple changes that will preserve the lighthouse and help save turtles.

2. Tell Amazon to Stop Selling Caviar from Imperiled Sturgeon Species
A number of vendors currently sell caviar through Amazon.com, which some believe is having an adverse effect on endangered wild sturgeon populations, and attempting to replace wild sturgeon with a captive population. Farms also make it possible to kill wild fish and claim they were farm raised, in addition to providing an incentive to catch mature fish for breeding.
Please sign the petition asking Amazon.com's CEO to stop selling caviar and other products from these fish.

3. Save Baby Elephants from the Black Market
The illegal trade in elephants for ivory and for tourism is thriving in Thailand and Burma. Elephants are stolen from sanctuaries, with baby elephants being the most vulnerable to the practice and don't need to be registered until they are eight years old, making them hard to track.
Please sign the petition asking the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation asking that they register baby elephants at birth.

1. Speak Up for the Bonneville Sea Lions
On March 15, Idaho, Oregon and Washington were authorized to kill up to 92 sea lions from the Bonneville Dam simply because they eat salmon. Plans were approved even though there has been an increase of salmon in the area and sea lions account for only a 1-4% loss.
Sign the petition asking the organizations in charge to reverse their plans and use resources to find an alternative that will benefit all wildlife involved.
2. Tell the EPA to Stop Lead Poisoning
According to the Center for Biological Diversity more than 3,000 tons of lead are shot into the wild every year, along with an estimated half a million lead sinkers that are lose by fisherman, posing a poisonous threat to wildlife and humans.
Sign the petition telling the EPA to stop the use of toxic lead for hunting and fishing.

3. Support the Pet Safety and Protection Act
In February, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced plans to phase out Class B dealers (random source animal brokers) for federally funded research, but pets who could wind up in labs still need help. The Pet Safety and Protection Act would put these dealers out of business, ensuring pets who end up in shelters get the second chance they deserve.
Sign the petition telling Congress to support this legislation to help keep pets safe.
