Black Cats at Midnight

I've never had a black cat. My friend did and I swear that cat caught me off guard and scared me silly more than once. Most of our cats have had light colored fur or some white in their coloring. Even in the dark, I can sense that they are around, because their fur catches even a small glimmer of light. But not Digit. She was beautiful, but in the dark she just blended into the shadows. Kind of eerie.

$1 of the purchase price of every pair of earrings in my shop will be donated to Neighborhood Cats, NYC, a trap-neuter-return program. http://www.neighborhoodcats.org/

Hasbro Halloween Cards

Mvegan5's Hasbro Halloween Cards, made from a print of an oil painting inspired by a mask art project I ran with children at the Hasbro Hospital in Providence Rhode Island. They are listed as a set of 3 cards, but can be ordered individually or in any amount.

What a fun way to celebrate Halloween, by sending cards to your friends and family or framing one for yourself!

10% of all of my Etsy shop sales go to the Etsy for Animals Charity of the Month. I offer nature and animal inspired cards, prints, custom animal paintings, and vintage component jewelry. I run Etsy for Animals: Artists Helping Animals (efa):

Spooktacular Halloween - Eek! A bat!

Everyone knows that bats symbolize all things spooky, creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky. But animal lovers also know that these often-maligned mammals have incredible abilities, play a crucial part in the ecosystem, and they're pretty cute too. In several cultures, they are considered sacred or signs of good luck!

This October, show your wicked side AND your animal lover side with this SPOOKTACULAR chainmaille choker by Viva Metal Jewelry! Stainless steel meets black jasper beads in this carefully handcrafted piece. Delicate, tough, feminine, dark, and adorable all at once.

Viva Metal offers high quality handcrafted chain and wire jewelry, accented with a funky, edgy style that is purely Viva. Check out the shop for more unique jewelry and accessories - great for ladies and guys too! Customized fit ensures that all sizes and shapes are accommodated.

In the few hours when Viva isn't working on or thinking about jewelry, she is a criminal justice student, reads, cooks, tries to remember to do yoga, listens to NPR, lavishes love upon her very spoiled kitty, and volunteers for Forgotten Cats, a local rescue/adoption agency partnered with Petsmart. At least 5% of your purchase totals go toward helping animals in need every month!
