Bunfest 2012: Last call for donations

BUNFEST
A day all about Rabbits &
the people that love them !
January 14, 2012

Sara Kyle from The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast writes: "Bunfest 2012 is right around the corner!!! Don’t forget to send out your donations soon, I would like to have everything in by Jan 7th 2012 due to the event being on Jan 14th.

We are looking forward to another successful Bunfest and thank you so much for your support. This year we are trying to raise funds to open a new Rabbit and Small Animal adoption area. This will allow us to house more animals and in return adopt more out. All product and gift card donations can be sent to the shelter (see address below- att: Sara Kyle)

If you would like a tax exemption receipt please just send me an email or put a note in the package and I can send one out asap. We have photos of the last Bunfest on our facebook page. Thank You again for your support: every little bit helps us to help the animals!"

Here are a few examples...

Haiku

By Elaine Magliaro

After the blizzard
snowmen are sprouting up
like winter wildflowers

Sleet tap-dances
on my roof, clicks its icy heels
on my windowpane

Snowflakes fluttering
from a wintry sky…a flock
of white butterflies

With his frosty feet
little mouse prints a message
in the snow: Hello!

Like stars shaken from
The sky, snowflakes whirling down
In white galaxies

A snowman shadow

paints himself in blue upon

a cold white canvas

So what are you waiting for… enter today!

Here's HOW TO ENTER:

If you are an EFA member & would like to submit an entry, please convo our Challenge Blog Leader, Jess of jessicalynneart, with the following information:

Christmas Reunion: an update from ARK, Japan

Christmas Reunion
An update from ARK
(Animal Rescue Kansai, Japan)
EFA's COTM: last April 2011

photo of FROM AFAR reunited with his owners at Fukushima airport

Update 25th December 2011

"FROM AFAR, an elderly Beagle, rescued on 14th April, was reunited with his family in Fukushima yesterday. One of the Boys flew up to Fukushima from Osaka with him and handed him over. Both were excited to see each other again after so long apart.

The 16 year old has been through a traumatic time and we hope the family will keep him warm and snug in this bitterly cold season.

Two puppies recently rescued from Fukushima are now in Tokyo where they have been neutered. They will come to Osaka in the New Year."

Just one Dog...

Never doubt that

a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens

can change the world. Indeed,

it is the only thing that ever has.

~ Margaret Mead

Just One Dog

Presented by Alicia of WoodsEdge

Right before Christmas one year, a pathetic looking dog sat in a California shelter with 24 hours left to live... when one person decided to do just one thing... for just one dog.

See what a sweet and handsome boy Stanley turned out to be with some love and care in his new home ! He has his very own Facebook page... visit http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stanley/261016470627

Here's to another

year of our small actions

leading up to second chances

and big victories for animals.

Happy Holidays !
